King Ethelred II "the Unready" (of England) married first Aelgifu (Elgiva) (of Aelflaed), daughter of Thored Gunnarsson. King Ethelred II "the Unready" (of England) married second Princess Emma (of Normandy), daughter of Richard I the Fearless (of Normandy) and Gunnora (Gonnor) de Crepon, in 1002 of , Normandy, France.2,1 King Ethelred II "the Unready" (of England) died on 23 April 1016 in London, England.3 He was buried at St. Paul's, London, Middlesex, England.2
     King Ethelred II "the Unready" (of England) was also known as King Athelred II.4 King Ethelred II "the Unready" (of England) was also known as King Aethelred II "The Unready".3 He became King of England in 979 replacing King Edward II the Martyr (of England).4 King Ethelred II "the Unready" (of England) was replaced as King of England by King Edmund II "Ironsides" (of England) in April 1016.1
